OHFA administers the Housing Choice Voucher Program and the Performance Based Contract Administration Program with the goal of providing rental assistance to low-income families, including those who have disabilities, who are elderly, or who are at great risk of homelessness.

PORTABILITY/TRANSFERRING ASSISTANCE
Portability in the Housing Choice Voucher program refers to the process in which a family can transfer or “port” their rental subsidy when moving to a location outside the jurisdiction of the Public Housing Agency (PHA) that first gave you the voucher when you were selected for the program (the initial PHA).
