Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) presented the 2021 Premier Awards to the top five producing lending institutions in its OHFA Homebuyer Down Payment Assistance Program during its Sept. 22 Board of Trustees meeting.
During the past year, 2,995 buyers purchased homes utilizing OHFA’s down payment assistance products. Premier Award winners are responsible for 1,589 of these loans. This represents record volume since OHFA’s loan program began in 1980.
Recipients and their home city include:
Associated Mortgage Corporation (AMC) – Tulsa
Bank of Oklahoma - Tulsa
First United Bank & Trust - Durant
Gateway Mortgage Group - Jenks
Great Plains Bank – Oklahoma City
“OHFA’s lending partners lead Oklahoma homebuyers through each step of the process from pre-qualification to closing,” said Deborah Jenkins, OHFA executive director. “We’re proud to recognize the Premier Award winners for their combined $260.4 million in loan volume.”
OHFA partners with various mortgage lenders across the state to provide down payment assistance to homebuyers in all 77 counties. Qualified homebuyers receive a 30-year fixed rate low-interest mortgage loan with 3.5 percent down payment assistance. Buyers who bring their own down payment to the closing table benefit from a lower interest rate.
Teachers, first responders and state employees may also qualify for a lower interest rate.
