Erin, a high school chemistry teacher purchased her first home last year with the help of OHFA Homebuyer Down Payment Assistance. The OHFA 4Teachers loan product provided Erin with an even lower interest rate.
Shortly after she moved into her new home, Erin began teaching her classes from a spare bedroom, due to the pandemic.
"(Teaching) would have been much harder in an apartment, stuck with my two dogs, instead of a whole house to do this in," Erin said.
Erin enjoys the flexibility of being able to make her home her own. She purchased a home in the area she wanted, with a floor plan and yard that checked the right boxes.
OHFA offers 3.5% down payment assistance to first-time and repeat buyers across the State of Oklahoma. Teachers, first responders, state employees and buyers who already have down payment may take advantage of lower interest rates.
