Housing Opportunities
for People with AIDS (HOPWA)
This program
helps people who are HIV positive and
homeless or at a high risk of being homeless. Assistance from the HOPWA
program may come in the form of emergency rental or mortgage assistance.
Help is also available to provide utility or rental assistance payments or
to find a place to rent.
In calendar year 2008, HOPWA awarded over $500,000 to help
provide housing for Oklahomans for all housing-related services,
emergency and long-term assistance, and other supportive services
including health care, mental health counseling, nutritional services
and transportation.
OHFA works with RAIN OK and Tulsa C.A.R.E.S to administer the HOPWA
program. For more information about HOPWA, call RAIN OK in Oklahoma
City at (405) 232-2437 or Tulsa C.A.R.E.S in Tulsa at (918) 832-4194.
